About the Role
The Scala Software Engineer will contribute to the development of high-performance gaming systems within a reactive, distributed platform. This role involves building and enhancing backend systems capable of handling significant load while maintaining reliability and responsiveness. The position offers the opportunity to work in a startup-oriented, agile environment where innovation and ownership are highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend software systems, including research, analysis, and estimation of requirements.
- Modify and enhance existing applications to meet functional, quality, and performance standards.
- Configure development environments and write clean, maintainable code aligned with project guidelines.
- Improve software quality through proactive testing and maintenance.
- Collaborate closely with system architects, analysts, and cross-functional experts.
Required Skills
- English proficiency at B2 level (CEFR) or higher.
- Relevant higher education or equivalent professional experience.
- Hands-on experience with Scala programming.
- Strong interest in learning new technologies and working within the iGaming domain.
- Experience or interest in high-load, reactive systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Akka ecosystem (Actors, Persistence, HTTP, Cluster).
- Familiarity with Cats (or Scalaz/Monix).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Cassandra, and PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of Event Sourcing, CQRS, or other JVM languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Clojure.
- Interest or experience in Cats Effect, ZIO, or Tagless Final approaches.
