About the Role
NEXTON is hiring a Scala Backend Developer for a permanent position in Paris. The role involves working within the technical direction of a major client account, contributing to the development and evolution of microservice-based platforms, and implementing scalable, maintainable, and testable solutions.
Engineers in this position will actively participate in feature teams, collaborating with peers, engaging directly with business stakeholders, and following Agile/Scrum practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evolve backend systems using Scala and microservices
- Implement best development practices to ensure efficient, scalable, and maintainable code
- Contribute proactively to technical and functional solutions
- Collaborate with other developers through peer coding, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
- Implement functional logic and business rules on the backend
- Participate in sprint planning and Agile ceremonies
- Interact directly with business teams according to project needs
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of backend development experience with Scala in microservice architectures
- Ability to design scalable, testable architectures (DDD, hexagonal architecture)
- Comfortable with asynchronous programming
- Able to act as an effective liaison with Lead Developers in the team
- Familiarity with Jira for project tracking
- Experienced in Agile/Scrum methodologies and associated practices
