About the Role

The Data Engineer – AI role focuses on building scalable data backends and operationalising machine learning solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining architecture for AI- and ML-driven products
  • Collaborating with Data Scientists to deploy ML prototypes into production
  • Ensuring stability and performance of ML models and AI APIs through automated testing and optimisation
  • Evaluating and implementing cutting-edge technologies in ML Ops, feature stores, storage, computing, and orchestration

Requirements

  • Residency: Germany only
  • Languages: Fluent in German and English
  • Strong software engineering knowledge, including testing and design patterns
  • Experience with data pipelines, ML data preprocessing, feature engineering, and storage solutions
  • Commitment to production-ready code with emphasis on robustness and performance
  • Ability to thrive in agile, cross-functional teams with rapid delivery and learning
  • Python: building scalable data pipelines and ML backends (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
  • SQL: writing efficient queries, managing complex joins and large datasets
  • Git: version control, branching, commits, and collaborative workflows
