About the Role
The Data Engineer – AI role focuses on building scalable data backends and operationalising machine learning solutions. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, building, and maintaining architecture for AI- and ML-driven products
- Collaborating with Data Scientists to deploy ML prototypes into production
- Ensuring stability and performance of ML models and AI APIs through automated testing and optimisation
- Evaluating and implementing cutting-edge technologies in ML Ops, feature stores, storage, computing, and orchestration
Requirements
- Residency: Germany only
- Languages: Fluent in German and English
- Strong software engineering knowledge, including testing and design patterns
- Experience with data pipelines, ML data preprocessing, feature engineering, and storage solutions
- Commitment to production-ready code with emphasis on robustness and performance
- Ability to thrive in agile, cross-functional teams with rapid delivery and learning
- Python: building scalable data pipelines and ML backends (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
- SQL: writing efficient queries, managing complex joins and large datasets
- Git: version control, branching, commits, and collaborative workflows
