About the Role
The Scala Developer role involves supporting and enhancing the existing codebase, developing connections to trading systems, and optimizing infrastructure for performance and maintainability. The position reports to the Back-end Director and offers flexibility in worksite arrangements, including remote, hybrid, or on-site options.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting and maintaining a large-scale microservices codebase.
- Developing backend interfaces and APIs, including HTTP API and FIX API connections.
- Optimizing and modifying existing infrastructure architecture to improve productivity and maintainability.
Requirements
- 3+ years of Scala development experience.
- Knowledge of JVM multithreading models, including blocking, CAS, Future/Promise, and Actors.
- Understanding of functional programming concepts, such as recursion, laziness, and pure functions.
- Proficiency with Scala collections and for-comprehensions.
- Experience with the Akka library, including akka-http, akka-streams, and the actor model.
- Understanding of basic data structures and algorithms.
- SQL experience.
- Ability to write tests and ensure code reliability.
