About the Role
The role involves designing and developing backend systems using a modern Scala-based stack. Engineers will work in a fully remote capacity, collaborating with highly skilled colleagues to build a leading casino product.
Key responsibilities
- Developing RESTful APIs using Scala, Akka, and Java 11
- Writing functional, immutable code while maintaining flexibility where needed
- Collaborating with team members to share knowledge and implement best practices
- Contributing to architecture decisions and continuous improvement of the tech stack
- Working in a flat organization where ideas, not hierarchy, guide decision-making
Requirements
- Bachelorās Degree in a relevant field
- Authorized to work in Malta
- 4+ years of professional experience with Scala
- Experience with functional programming and understanding of immutability
- Strong passion for coding and learning new technologies
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a highly skilled Agile team
- Open-minded approach to programming languages and concepts
