About the Role

The Scala Developer will join a remote-first engineering team, responsible for building and evolving backend services across logic-heavy and data-intensive systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining backend services in Scala
  • Working on high-traffic, complex, and data-intensive systems
  • Improving performance, stability, and overall code quality
  • Collaborating closely with backend engineers, product teams, and stakeholders
  • Owning features end-to-end, from design through production

Requirements

  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with strong Scala in production
  • Experience with distributed systems or high-traffic platforms
  • Pragmatic engineering mindset: clean code, sensible architecture, and thoughtful delivery
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment
  • Strong communication skills and sense of ownership

Nice to Have

  • Experience with large-scale consumer or marketplace platforms
