About the Role
The Scala Developer will join a remote-first engineering team, responsible for building and evolving backend services across logic-heavy and data-intensive systems.
Key responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining backend services in Scala
- Working on high-traffic, complex, and data-intensive systems
- Improving performance, stability, and overall code quality
- Collaborating closely with backend engineers, product teams, and stakeholders
- Owning features end-to-end, from design through production
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with strong Scala in production
- Experience with distributed systems or high-traffic platforms
- Pragmatic engineering mindset: clean code, sensible architecture, and thoughtful delivery
- Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment
- Strong communication skills and sense of ownership
Nice to Have
- Experience with large-scale consumer or marketplace platforms
- Familiarity with event-driven or data-heavy architectures
