About the Role

The position is for a Big Data Engineer with expertise in Spark, Scala, and AWS. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, collaborating with business analysts and data modelers, and ensuring high-quality data processing. The engineer will contribute to building robust solutions that support reporting, analytics, and operational efficiency in a regulated or complex environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business analysts and data modelers to translate reporting requirements into technical solutions
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for processing large datasets
  • Develop solutions using Spark and Scala, including automated testing and data quality controls
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with architectural standards and best practices

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of commercial experience in Big Data development
  • Hands-on experience with Hadoop, Spark, and Scala, preferably in regulated environments
  • AWS experience, including event-driven processing and infrastructure configuration with Terraform
  • Practical experience designing and monitoring batch processes
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python)
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux environments
  • Familiarity with Git and Maven
  • English proficiency minimum B2 (C1 preferred)
