About the Role
HN Services Romania is seeking a Software Engineer to join the ePlatform team within the Group’s IT Department. The team is responsible for the distribution and creation of digital content, including eBooks and audiobooks, across the organization’s intranet, extranet, and e-commerce platforms. The role involves application development, operational support, and participation in the modernization of the existing platform.
Responsibilities
- Gather, document, and centralize functional requirements from business and eCommerce teams.
- Prepare technical specifications, create Jira tickets, and maintain project documentation.
- Develop applications using Python, Java, Scala, MariaDB, and web technologies including HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap.
- Perform code refactoring, unit testing, and functional testing.
- Ensure the security of application code and production data.
- Participate in application deployment and production releases.
- Plan and monitor project progress to support timely delivery.
- Analyze and resolve production incidents related to hosting, networking, and application functionality.
- Troubleshoot issues involving networking protocols, MariaDB databases, Linux environments, and Bash scripts.
- Work with Jenkins jobs, workflows, scripting, and crontab management.
- Contribute to the modernization of the platform using Python and Java technologies.
- Develop Python modules using FastAPI, Pydantic, and SQLAlchemy.
- Rationalize Python jobs and processing workflows.
- Perform unit, functional, and performance testing.
- Ensure functional consistency between the existing and modernized platforms.
- Support the phased deployment of modernization modules into production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in IT Production and DevOps environments.
- Strong experience with Python and related technologies, including FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, Loguru, Jinja, Sphinx, Pandas, boto3, and Pillow.
- Experience with Java.
- Experience in project management.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to suggest improvements.
