About the Role
The company is seeking a Senior Scala Developer to design and develop scalable backend services and distributed systems.
This is a backend-focused position in which Scala is the primary programming language. The developer will apply functional programming principles, contribute to system design, and build cloud-native services on AWS.
The position is remote and open to candidates located within the European Union. Applicants must be authorized to work in Poland.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services using Scala.
- Build high-performance distributed systems and microservices.
- Apply functional programming principles and best practices.
- Develop cloud-native applications and services on AWS.
- Work with AWS services including S3, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, and RDS.
- Contribute to system architecture and technical design.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Take part in technical discussions.
- Work with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop reliable solutions for concurrent and multithreaded environments.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of recent hands-on Scala development experience.
- Strong functional programming experience.
- Experience with Cats Effect, FS2, HTTP4s, or similar technologies.
- Experience with Akka or Pekko.
- Strong understanding of concurrency and multithreading.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with AWS.
- Experience using Docker.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to design scalable backend services and microservices.
- Authorization to work in Poland.
- Ability to work remotely from within the European Union.
