About the Role
A Backend Engineer position is available for working on the development and operation of Kaushe’s core backend systems. The role focuses on designing, building, maintaining, and operating backend services using Go and Google Cloud. The engineer is expected to contribute to a high-growth product and take ownership of key technical decisions within a quality-driven engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and operate backend systems for a social e-commerce application
- Design and implement backend services using Go and Google Cloud
- Work with APIs based on Protocol Buffers and gRPC
- Support system reliability, scalability, and performance improvements
- Collaborate with the engineering team to deliver production-grade features
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional backend development and operations experience (excluding PoC or internal-only systems)
- Experience in backend development using at least one of the following languages: Go, Ruby, PHP, Java, Python, TypeScript, Scala, Kotlin, or Dart
- Ability to take ownership of software development tasks and drive them independently
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Go and Google Cloud
- Experience in system architecture design and technology selection
- Experience in frontend or mobile application development
- Experience working as a product manager
