Its globally distributed engineering teams develop trading platforms using adaptable technology and open architectures. The FlexONE team is responsible for the company’s integrated Order Management System and Execution Management System for buy-side clients.
About the Role
FlexTrade Systems is seeking a Software Developer to join the FlexONE team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The developer will work on the company’s flagship buy-side OMS platform and contribute to new feature development, performance improvements, bug fixes, and production support.
The position is intended for local candidates in Milwaukee.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement new product features.
- Develop software using technologies including Scala, Akka, and gRPC.
- Gather and clarify requirements from Project Managers and other stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve product performance.
- Implement performance enhancements in the core platform.
- Investigate and resolve software defects.
- Provide production support when required.
- Collaborate with other members of the development team.
- Proactively identify and solve technical problems.
- Contribute to the continued development of the FlexONE OMS and EMS platform.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 1 year of professional software development experience.
- Advanced Java programming skills.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented software design and development.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical ideas, problems, and solutions clearly.
- Strong motivation to learn and develop professionally.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced financial software environment.
- Must be a local candidate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of functional programming concepts.
- Scala experience.
- Knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with relational databases.
- Familiarity with Akka.
- Familiarity with gRPC.
