About the Role
The Lead Data Engineer – Spark/Scala will work within the Insights & Data practice, focusing on designing and developing client data architectures, optimizing data ingestion pipelines, and coordinating development teams. The role requires technical leadership, ensuring code quality, proposing architectural improvements, and supporting continuous improvement within the team.
Engineers in this position contribute to high-impact projects across sectors such as renewable energy, transportation, AI, and data, providing opportunities to influence both technology and business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Participate in design workshops and develop client data architectures
- Contribute to strategies for data extraction and ingestion pipelines
- Provide expertise in optimizing data workflows
- Coordinate development team activities and support skill development
- Serve as a technical reference, ensuring code quality and proposing architectural improvements
- Promote continuous improvement within the team and track performance metrics
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Big Data technologies and projects
- Expertise in Spark/Scala and its ecosystem, including Hadoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, and Kafka
- Experience providing technical guidance and mentoring development teams is a plus
