About the Role
The Lead Developer – Data & AI will spearhead the development and delivery of analytics projects, focusing on healthcare outcomes. This role involves designing scalable data solutions, managing complex pipelines, and leading technical initiatives while ensuring high standards in code quality, compliance, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Design: Develop scalable data solutions, define data models, design data lakes/lakehouses, and produce high-level design documents
- Development & Optimization: Build and optimize batch and streaming data pipelines using PySpark/Scala, Delta Lake, SQL, and automated workflows
- Leadership & Mentoring: Guide development teams, share best practices, mentor engineers, and lead technical initiatives
- Data Governance & Quality: Implement data quality checks, security measures (RBAC, Unity Catalog), and ensure data lineage
- Cloud & DevOps: Manage cloud services (Azure/AWS), CI/CD pipelines (Git, ADO), and Databricks clusters
- Collaboration: Work with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
Requirements
- Expertise in PySpark/Scala, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, SQL, Databricks Notebooks/Workflows
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and CI/CD tools
- Strong skills in data modeling and architecture
- Over 5 years of experience in data engineering and software engineering with substantial exposure to Databricks
- Leadership experience including mentoring teams, managing stakeholders, and leading complex technical projects

- Experience with analytics tools, big data frameworks, and advanced data integration
- Knowledge of dashboard creation, data visualization, and data-driven insights
- Familiarity with business analytics, data governance frameworks, and healthcare data standards
