About the Role
The company is seeking a Senior Scala Developer to join a project for a major client in the Fintech sector.
The developer will work on the development and optimization of backend components in a technically advanced environment. The position is fully remote, and English is the working language.
The engagement is expected to run from September 2026 until the end of April 2027.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize backend components using Scala.
- Work with Kafka-based systems.
- Contribute to microservices architectures.
- Support event-streaming solutions.
- Collaborate with distributed teams working across multiple locations.
- Participate in Agile development processes.
- Contribute to technical discussions and software development activities.
- Apply backend development best practices.
- Work with cloud-based environments where required.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience in backend software development.
- Excellent Scala development skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Kafka.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
- Ability to collaborate with teams distributed across multiple locations.

- Experience with Cats Effect.
- Experience with Doobie.
- Experience with Akka or Pekko.
