About the Role
A Senior Scala Developer position available at 80-100% employment, based in Germany or Switzerland, starting as soon as possible. The role is part of the backend engineering team responsible for developing and evolving the company’s core network detection and response (NDR) product. The position combines hands-on software development with architectural ownership and technical leadership responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide architectural guidance for backend systems, including new features and refactoring of existing code
- Mentor and support backend developers in their professional growth
- Develop and maintain backend systems for the NDR product, including analytics and core platform components
- Collaborate closely with the engineering team to design and implement new features
- Contribute to improving system scalability, maintainability, and performance
- Participate in technical decision-making and backend architecture design
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering
- Strong Scala development skills with a focus on backend systems
- Experience in software architecture design and system design decisions
- Ability to write clean, readable, well-structured, and performant code
- Experience with unit testing and integration testing practices
- Ability to break down complex problems into manageable technical tasks
- Strong collaboration and communication skills within engineering teams
- Ability to balance practical delivery with code quality and maintainability
- Interest in cybersecurity and fast-paced scale-up environments
- Fluent in English (German is an advantage)
