About the Role
MRP Global is seeking a Scala Engineer to join a fast-paced Agile team delivering modern, cloud-based digital services. The role involves developing scalable, high-performance applications within a collaborative, cross-functional environment. This is a long-term hybrid opportunity with onsite presence required in the West Midlands.
Candidates based in Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton, Stafford, Bridgnorth, Birmingham, and surrounding areas are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Develop scalable, high-performance applications.
- Build and maintain Scala-based solutions using the Play Framework.
- Develop and support microservices and REST APIs.
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests.
- Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Contribute to CI/CD processes and cloud-based development where applicable.
Requirements
- Experience with Scala.
- Experience using the Play Framework.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture.
- Experience developing REST APIs.
- Experience with unit testing and integration testing.
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and cloud technologies is desirable.
- Eligibility for BPSS Clearance.
