About the Role
Sii is seeking a Java Developer to join a project for a global shipping and logistics company.
The developer will work remotely with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and business stakeholders to design and implement AI workflows for customer service operations. The role focuses on workflow orchestration, data integration, APIs, event streams, and reliable software development using Java or Scala.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end AI workflows for customer service scenarios.
- Integrate data sources and systems to support reliable workflow orchestration.
- Develop maintainable and testable software using Java or Scala.
- Create SQL-based data transformations and data models.
- Connect workflows with upstream and downstream platforms.
- Develop integrations using APIs or event streams.
- Work with technologies such as Kafka where required.
- Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers.
- Investigate and resolve data-related issues.
- Work with business stakeholders to understand project requirements.
- Apply unit testing and other software development best practices.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong Java programming skills.
- Experience developing maintainable and testable software.
- Proficiency in SQL for data modelling, queries, and transformations.
- Experience building integrations through APIs.
- Experience working with event-streaming technologies such as Kafka.
- Understanding of unit testing and software development best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
