About the Role
A Big Data Platform Engineer is sought to support the ACQA platform, a cloud-based solution built on Microsoft Azure. The platform is designed to provide scalable infrastructure, support valuation and risk management services, improve regulatory compliance, and deliver a unified experience across Front Office, Finance, and Risk teams.
The role involves working with multiple engineering teams to develop and maintain Big Data solutions while helping improve the platform and its infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multiple federated teams to support the development of Big Data solutions.
- Manage the ACQA Databricks platform, including monitoring and platform tooling.
- Provide recommendations and best practices for runtime upgrades.
Requirements
- Experience developing Big Data solutions using Apache Spark and Azure Databricks.
- Experience building complex production systems with Java and Scala.
- Experience in a platform engineering role on a major cloud provider, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Experience developing or operating CI/CD pipelines using cloud-native build systems such as GitLab.
- Experience with containerization technologies and Kubernetes.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience using Terraform on a major public cloud platform, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Python.
- Knowledge of testing, instrumentation, observability, and alerting tools.
- Understanding of information modelling, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with technical architecture and low-level design.
- Familiarity with Agile development and planning practices.
- Ability to collaborate within large global teams and contribute to architectural decisions.
- English proficiency at B2 level.
