About the Role
The Data Engineer will work on both client and internal projects. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, data models, and data solutions while contributing to CBTW’s internal data community. Engineers will focus on performance, scalability, and data quality across multiple projects and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading data (ETL processes)
- Design and implement data models and structures to meet performance, scalability, and integrity requirements
- Optimize database queries to maximize performance and minimize execution time
- Perform data cleansing, transformation, and integration to ensure data quality and consistency
- Establish monitoring and security mechanisms to ensure data integrity and confidentiality
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to understand business requirements
- Continuously evaluate new technologies and best practices in data engineering to develop innovative solutions
- Contribute to the internal Data community by sharing knowledge and best practices
Requirements
- Degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience in data engineering or similar role
- Expertise in ETL development, data modeling, and query optimization
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database design
- Experience with big data frameworks such as Hadoop or Spark
- Programming skills, preferably in Python or Scala
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms for data analysis and processing (a plus)
- Fluency in Dutch and/or French and English
