About the Role
This position involves developing, debugging, and testing product functionality in accordance with established development standards. The specialist will work closely with the wider engineering team to resolve technical issues and improve product performance and scalability.
The role also includes contributing to the development of a custom API gateway built with Scala.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain product features using Scala
- Perform debugging and unit testing in line with internal development practices
- Identify and resolve functional, scalability, and performance-related issues
- Deliver tasks that meet agreed development requirements and quality standards
- Collaborate with team members to address open product issues
- Contribute to the ongoing development of a Scala-based API gateway
Requirements
- 4+ years of commercial experience with Scala
- Experience working with deployment processes
- Familiarity with cloud management systems
- Knowledge of databases
- Ability to analyse requests and provide quick responses
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Self-organised and proactive approach to work
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
