About the Role
A Senior Data Engineer role is available within Saab’s AI and Data initiative. The position focuses on developing and evolving scalable data platforms that support mission-critical systems. The work involves handling large-scale and complex data environments, including real-time analytics and processing for advanced defence and autonomous systems. The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic influence over data architecture and technical direction.
Responsibilities
- Develop and further improve scalable data platforms and data pipelines
- Work with both batch and real-time data processing systems
- Collaborate closely with data engineers, AI engineers, and platform teams
- Contribute to architecture design, technical standards, and engineering practices
- Mentor and share knowledge within the team
- Work with large-scale data systems in high-demand, security-critical environments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or equivalent
- Several years of experience in data engineering in production environments
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and/or Scala
- Experience with cloud platforms and modern data infrastructure
- Experience with ETL and ELT processes, data pipelines, and data modelling
- Experience working in Linux-based environments
- Strong communication skills in Swedish and English
