About the Role
A Big Data Data Engineer role requiring onsite presence in Toronto. The position is suited for a senior-level professional with extensive experience in Big Data technologies, with a strong emphasis on hands-on development rather than purely engineering or support responsibilities. The role requires at least 10+ years of experience in the field.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Big Data solutions using Scala and Apache Spark
- Work hands-on as a Data Engineer in development-focused tasks
- Build and support data processing pipelines using Big Data technologies
- Work with data validation and reconciliation processes
- Support liquidity reporting-related data workflows
- Use SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
- Work with distributed data systems and storage frameworks
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in Big Data technologies
- Strong hands-on development experience as a Data Engineer
- Strong experience with Scala and Apache Spark
- Knowledge of Big Data ecosystems including HDFS, Spark, and Cassandra
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience with data validation and reconciliation processes
- Experience with liquidity reporting is preferred
