About the Role

Meritis is seeking a Data Engineer to join a strategic project for one of its major clients.

The engineer will work on large-scale data processing and optimization challenges, with a focus on distributed data pipelines, ETL and ELT processes, and Big Data technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop distributed data pipelines using Apache Spark and Scala.
  • Develop ETL and ELT processes for large volumes of data.
  • Implement complex data transformations using Spark DataFrame, Dataset, and SQL.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and traceability.
  • Contribute to the design and evolution of data architectures.
  • Optimize data-processing performance.
  • Work with large-scale Big Data environments.
  • Collaborate with project teams on data engineering requirements and solutions.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent Bac+5 qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, Data, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Experience writing complex SQL queries.
  • Experience optimizing SQL performance.
  • Strong experience with Spark or PySpark.
  • Very good Python skills.
  • Experience working in Big Data environments.
  • Ability to develop and maintain large-scale data processing solutions.
